Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital Announces New Board Member and New Board Co-Chair

Baltimore, MD (July 26) - The Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) Board of Trustees welcomed Peter Mancino, deputy general counsel of The Johns Hopkins Health System ("Hopkins") to its board, following G. Daniel Shealer's retirement. Mr. Shealer, who had held board leadership positions including chair, retired from Hopkins where he served as Senior Vice President & General Counsel. Additionally, the Mt. Washington Pediatric Foundation Board has transformed its leadership by elevating Dan Joerres to Co-Chair. Joerres will serve alongside Co-Chair Lauren Perlin.
Peter Mancino provides legal counsel to all Hopkins affiliates, including three academic medical centers, three community hospitals, several health plans, and multiple physician practices. Peter also serves as Hopkins' vice president, corporate compliance, and in that role, he oversees a team of compliance professionals as well as the Hopkins' Privacy Office. He also acts as the secretary to the boards of trustees of Johns Hopkins Medicine, The Johns Hopkins Hospital, and The Johns Hopkins Health System Corporation. Prior to joining Hopkins, Mancino was a partner at Garfunkel Wild, P.C., a law firm which represents health systems, hospitals and physician groups throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

His addition will enable MWPH to continue our mission of caring for children with complex medical conditions. Our board also thanks Dan Shealer for his 15 years of service as a MWPH board member."
Dan Joerres serves as president and general manager for WBAL-TV. Before coming to Baltimore in 2011, Joerres worked at Hearst-owned WXII-TV in Greensboro, Winston-Salem, N.C., where he served as general sales manager. Joerres began his media career in Madison, Wisconsin as an Account Executive in radio sales. Dan and his wife Annemarie reside in Reisterstown with their four children.
